Lisa Rinna (born July 11, 1963) is an American actress, television personality, and model. She is best known for her roles as Billie Reed on the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives and Taylor McBride on Fox’s primetime drama Melrose Place. From 2014 to 2022, Rinna was a main cast member on Bravo’s reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Her additional television work includes competing on The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars, as well as guest appearances on shows such as Entourage, Veronica Mars, Community, The Middle, and American Horror Stories. In 2007, she made her Broadway debut portraying Roxie Hart in Chicago.

Rinna also hosted Soapnet’s talk show Soap Talk from 2002 to 2006, earning four Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Talk Show Host. As an author, she has written three books: Starlit, The Big, Fun, Sexy Sex Book, and Rinnavation. Beyond acting and writing, Rinna has pursued several business ventures, including The Lisa Rinna Collection fashion line for QVC, the cosmetics brand Rinna Beauty, and the beverage company Rinna Wines.

Lisa Deanna Rinna was born July 11, 1963, in Newport Beach, California, to Lois Irene (née DeAndrade) and Frank Rinna. She is of Portuguese and Italian descent. Before Lisa’s birth, her mother was attacked by American serial killer David Carpenter, who she had worked with. Lois was saved by a military police officer who followed Carpenter’s car after it entered a prohibited area. When Lisa was seven, her older half-sister Laurene died. During that same year, her family relocated to Medford, Oregon, when her father was transferred there for job-related reasons, and she spent the remainder of her childhood there. Rinna graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1981.

Career beginnings
After graduating from high school, Rinna moved to San Francisco to pursue a career as a model. She began her career appearing in commercials and has said she obtained her SAG card by doing a Mervyn’s commercial.

At age twenty-one, Rinna appeared in the music video for John Parr’s single “Naughty Naughty” as the passenger in his car. She later made her television debut appearing as the girlfriend of Jason Bateman’s character in several episodes of The Hogan Family.

Soap opera stardom
In the early nineties, she first played the character of Billie Reed on NBC’s Days of Our Lives. The role earned her two consecutive Soap Opera Digest Awards. She departed the series in the mid-nineties but later reprised the role multiple times in subsequent years.

She then transitioned to primetime television, portraying Taylor McBride on Aaron Spelling’s Melrose Place for several seasons.
