The first-ever World Boxing Cup in Kazakhstan came to an end.
The first-ever World Boxing Cup in Kazakhstan came to an end.
This event, which brought together exceptional boxing talent from across the globe — including Paris 2024, World Championships and European Championships medalists — has been a true celebration of boxing in the beautiful city of Astana.
Over the past week, Kazakhstan has showcased to the world of Olympic-style boxing the depth of its rich boxing traditions and demonstrated just how passionate people in the country are about our sport. As President of World Boxing, it was an absolute honour for me that the finals of the World Boxing Cup in Astana were attended by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. I had the opportunity to personally thank Mr. Tokayev for his significant support of boxing in Kazakhstan.
I would like to extend my deepest congratulations to all the medalists of this event. You have done tremendous work, and it has paid off. Enjoy your triumph — you truly deserve it. To those who didn’t reach the podium this time: continue to believe in your dream, give everything you have in the gym, and next time your hand will be raised.
My heartfelt gratitude to the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation for the outstanding organisation of this event. You placed the interests of boxers first, and the result was a world-class competition. And sure, I’d also like to express my sincere appreciation to the boxers, coaches, officials, sports administrators, and volunteers — thank you for your tireless efforts to improve our sport, together with us.
See you all at the inaugural World Boxing Elite Men’s and Women’s World Championships in England!
